The Precision Cares recipient of $1,000 for January 2021 is the Cedar Area Community Park – Playground project! This grassroots organization has a goal of revitalizing and adding new play structures so this important space in the Leelanau community can be brought up to code and made ADA compliant so children with disabilities have the opportunity to use the equipment as well.
The Cedar community has been holding a “Cans for Parks” fundraising program for the past three years, however, due to Covid, the collections have slowed yet they have still raised about $3,000 to date. One ten cent can at a time!
Precision is honored to help this playground project move closer to its remaining goal of $25,000.
If you would like to help the Cedar Area Community Park – Playground project reach its goal with a donation, please contact Mary Taylor at (231) 835-1343.

Precision is very proud to honor the Do a Little Good organization with $1,000 as our February Precision Cares recipient. This group has been hard at work caring for others especially during the pandemic. They continually raise funds for food pantries, care for the homeless, and homeless veterans. This group can make $1,000 go a long way to help people with basic necessities, like sleeping bags and soap. See the list on this post with items they always need and who to contact to make your donation.
5 Loaves 2 Fish
Precision Cares is thrilled to present 5loaves2fishnmi with $1,000 to support their great efforts! This local organization started in 2019 and provides nourishing meals, infused with love, to those experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. They prepare and distribute this food out of the kitchens at Leland United Community Methodist Church due to the generosity of donations and 100% volunteerism. With the need continuing to grow, 5loaves2fishnmi were just gifted a food truck and are in the process of refurbishing it to be “meal-prep worthy”. The $1,000 from Precision will go toward the food truck renovations.
If you have food donations (fresh or frozen), labor to either prep, serve, clean up, and organize the kitchen, or make a “love card” with words of encouragement that goes with each meal, please email 5loaves2fishnmi@gmail.com to share how you wish to donate!
