Our February Precision Cares recipient was TCAPS STEP. A free program administered by TCAPS serving students ages 3-20 who lack fixed, regular and adequate overnight housing. They help provide transportation, food, school supplies, tutoring, college application assistance, obtaining driver's licenses and so much more. Thank you to all who nominated!
Pregnancy Care Center is dedicated to serving women and men in our community who are facing unexpected pregnancies. Their heart is to provide caring and non-judgmental support, professional medical care, and the resources and information needed to make an empowered decision. They are a 501c3 nonprofit and provide all of their services free of charge, they are thankful for the loving support of our community
Our April Precision Cares recipient was Disability Network/Northern Michigan. Based in Traverse City, they’ve been serving people with disabilities, their families, and the Northern Lower Michigan community since 2002. The staff provides information, assistance, and support to people of all ages with a wide variety of disabilities. The organization is led by a board and staff made up mostly of people with disabilities. They serve people with any type of disability, including those with “invisible” barriers such as learning disabilities. Instead of focusing solely on the disability, they address the needs of the whole person to achieve a more balanced life. And unlike many organizations, they are here to support the community as well as the individual.
Our August Precision Cares recipients are the great team at NAMI-GT! Wahoo to this amazing group of individuals who are committed to improving a much-overlooked need. North American Mental Illness of Grand Traverse is working hard to meet their mission of being "Dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education, and advocacy" We are grateful for this team and the work that they are doing to assist families in our area.
Our Precision Cares July recipients are...Single MOMM! We congratulate the great team that makes Single MOMM function so well! They have helped so many single moms in our community get a fresh start and a better future! Their mission is to "We cultivate communities on a mission to ignite hope, healing, and confidence within single moms through story-based awareness, mentorship, and guidance. Thank you for all you do to support the single moms in our area!
Wahoo! Our September Precision Cares recipient is...Central Grade TAG-STEM Robotics! This program will help give students necessary skills for their future and we are happy to support a program that helps develop our leaders of tomorrow. I want to make sure that my students have access to high quality, inquiry-based science curriculum.
Furthermore, providing investigations that tie into the STEM objectives (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is essential to this endeavor. The requested Ozobot Evo kits will be excellent resources for students to delve into robotics and coding. To learn more visit the page below. October’s Precision Cares recipient is Acme Christian Thrift Store and Food Pantry! They fill a critical need for people who live in Antrim, Grand Traverse, and Kalkaska counties by providing an affordable used clothing store. ACTS then uses the revenue to operate a fully functional and well-stocked food pantry for those in need. We know this is critical and we are proud to contribute to their cause.
Our November Precision Cares $1000 recipient is the Local Chapter DC of the PEO Sisterhood. This money will go towards helping a young lady who’s very much in need of assistance. We’re grateful to this group of women who strive to support and empower ladies in our area as they work hard to attain a better life for themselves and their families.
The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. We are delighted to be able to support such a beneficial non-profit! Thank you to all the volunteers and supporters of this great organization!
Our December Precision Cares $1000 recipient is: TC Bulldogs Athletic Association! This organization provides athletic opportunities to home-school students from elementary to varsity boys and girls basketball, soccer and volleyball. They recently purchased property on Garfield road and we are in the process of building a gymnasium along with soccer fields and baseball diamonds. This money will be very helpful in funding these projects.
